Slide Shows: Handling Large Numbers of Images

For many companies, showing photographic images of their retail goods is of paramount importance, in order to stimulate the interest of the customer. What is the most effective method of presentation?
This section, demonstrates a number of really good methods for randomly showing images on your site. The images are seen one at a time, or grouped with up to three other images and in motion.
In some cases the speed of the motion can be slowed down or stopped, for comparative analysis. The aim of a slideshow is to quickly impact the audience with the scope of your presentation.
A slide show presentation generally contains links, so that the viewer can short cut to the item he is most interested in and link quickly to that area of your site. Thus, a slideshow is most appropriate on your entry or home page.

Once you have the customer in her area of interest, we recommend some different approaches, to enable comparative shopping.

  • You may want to consider using a splash screen presentation such as the one in our portfolio section. The viewer has the option to skip the intro and move straight to the meat of the matter, a page designed with thumbnails and an enlargement viewing table. As you will note, a background image has been incorporated, the elle A designs logo. Descriptions of the thumbnail images have been integrated using a mouse-over function.
