Tania
Garner, a very successful second generation artist, is the
daughter of Bruce Garner, an Ontario artist who is most noted for
his overscale bronze sculptures. Tania, like her father, also
sculpts in bronze, but her overscale work comes in the form of
murals. Tania paints on the sides of buildings, grain silos, walls
of shopping malls, anything big. At five months pregnant, with her
youngest child, Tania stood working, on a scafolding three floors
above the ground for a month to finish a contracted piece. Nothing
will stop Tania from doing the work she loves best, although in
her own words, "Art is one per cent inspiration and
ninety-nine percent perspiration."
On Tania's website you will find art in a
variety of mediums from acrylic paintings to bronze statuettes.
Tania's non-mural work is inspired by historical mythology as well
as mythological philosophies of her own creation.
