WELCOME TO RANDALL CHARBONEAU / WAYWAYMEGWUN (Traditional Native Name)
FIRST NATIONS TRADITIONAL ARTIST

My work has developed through Native traditional / spiritual teachings (our way of life). To reach within and dance amongst the spirit world, to live a life I have been chosen to do is the root to my expression that I explore within visual arts.

Earlier in my life I started drawing, which lead to painting. I have been painting for a few years. My medium is acrylic paint and canvas. I find that using acrylic paint allows me to flow with my thought, (for acrylics dry fast) and allows me to shade down and present an image in which I search for.

I would say that I am influenced by the woodlands traditional style (Ojibwa style) in which some of my techniques are related.

Painting from a spiritual aspect drains me tremendously but yet each painting is a teaching and that is a part of my growth and development through traditional healing.
