The Safe Communities Foundation has since become the forum in which this message would be communicated. This non-profit organization, that is funded by corporate sponsors, is in place to help communities form committees that establish their own health and safety organization. The main purpose is to promote a safe environment, be it at work, at home or at play.
Officially launched in September 1997, the committee has a part-time coordinator who can be reached through the Smiths Falls Town Hall.
